Technology for Home Learning

Requirements

Students will need a computer or iPad and internet access to complete and participate in live lessons.

Mobile devices may be borrowed from the school by contacting jay.schwermer@sigsbee.org. Please re-read the technology policies below from the beginning of the year.

Students will continue using Google Classroom (grades 3-8), SeeSaw (k-2) as well as web-based programs for assignments. Live lessons will be conducted through Zoom.

Student Acceptable Use Policy

This policy is signed at the start of each school year and is accepted and acknowledged at the start of each year with submission of your student's registration.

School Based Technology Usage Policies

The Electronics Policy and Chromebook Agreement (for grades 3-8) are accepted and acknowledged at the start of each year with submission of your student's registration. These policies define the care and responsibilities for use of a mobile device, including chromebooks and iPads both on school grounds and in a virtual setting.

MWR Students

WiFi is available at MWR so that you can access your teacher's live lessons when they are shown.

For students without internet access

As the country deals with the effects of the Coronavirus (COVID-19), Comcast is taking immediate steps to help connect more low-income families to the Internet at home. Effective Monday, March 16, 2020, new Internet Essentials customers will receive two free months of Internet service. After your first two free months expire, you can cancel the service There is no term contract or credit check and no shipping fee for equipment.

  • If you are eligible for public assistance programs such as Medicaid, SNAP, and others you may qualify for this free service.
  • You also must not have any outstanding debt with Comcast/Xfinity.

  • **Please note that Monroe County School District (MCSD) is not affiliated with Comcast. Any contracts signed with Comcast are independent of MCSD **
