90 MILES TO CUBA
The Graduating Class of Sigsbee Charter School is charting new waters with a cultural exchange to Cuba this spring. Students are learning about the Cuban culture, history, government and the arts in anticipation of visiting this neighboring nation. Though only 90 miles from their home, Cuba is miles apart from our philosophy, government and economics. It is a world unto itself in terms of the arts and frozen in time.
Students are fundraising throughout the year to make the trip affordable for all interested classmates and teachers. They are eager for service opportunities that might elicit funds. So far, students have worked as race course monitors, held carwashes, volunteered to babysit on professional days and run bake sales. If you have opportunities for our awesome students, please email Mrs. Jannes, the principal . (email@example.com). The students promise to be responsible, polite and appreciative.
RACE MONITORS, WATER STOPS and CHEERING SQUAD
Our group is happy to participate in weekend activities that need volunteers. Students were out at sunrise preparing the water stations for the Southernmost Marathon and 1/2 Marathon. The next weekend, they spread across Duval street at 6 AM to help with the Halloween 5K. Contact us if you need our help. We deliver with a smile.
Semi-Monthly Car Washes at the VFW
Thank you VFW and to our donors! Students enjoy the opportunities to work together to wash cars. If you missed us, please come back every other Sunday. We'll be at it again!
SEBAGO SUNSET CRUISE
It was a great night for our Sigsbee supporters to enjoy a beautiful sunset on Sebago. Thank you for supporting us.
